sem 2 - week 10
>> 08 AUGUST 2010
yes, i've lost the will to write here. heck, i dont even have time to make myself do things i should do in the first place! anyway, the best way i can summarize this past weeks is: if you can enjoy your life, please do, by all means! dont let the deadlines scare you, dont let the workload pile up (i made that mistake slightly, but it's settled), dont miss what you cant experience in the future, just GET A LIFE!
been checking up medical journals to right a report on hypertension. now hating reading isnt the case. finding the material is the hassle. limited reference, strict citation format, and briefing isnt till wednesday. just do what u can do in the mean time.
you cant please everybody. thats a fact. because? because i can't please everybody. agree?
5 more weeks this semester. let's get things done ppl... and enjoy a nice holiday after that...

ok dis is ridiculous.
Brazil loses, Argentina loses, Paraguay loses. what can happen next? whatever lah... i juz wanna see nice goals scored. enuf of the supporting. anywayz its a temporal football bug, the thrill is real, the excitement and disappointment. stoning there after being scored against. staring at the celebrating striker in the screen, looking at the slowmo playback of his expression after the goal. how depressing...
on a happier note, bro's married, happily ever after, preparing for the real church wedding and the dinner in 6 months time. glad to stand by the side to see the joys and excitement and anticipation they have in preparing for this event. cuz they're outstation most of the time, the times they have to prepare locally is short, but half the fun is the rush, right? gotta be more rajin to fit in the coat. discipline, chewie, discipline.
into the fourth week, lectures are getting complicated, projects are about to begin, real sem2 studies hence commences. i better start liking lab reports. it's gonna be quite a big deal in the near future. we pharmacists are in the lab so often anyway, if u dont love ur job, it's gonna be a very slow torturing session every time you enter the lab. sam laughed when i told him we're having bm and english, sayin it's worse than intec... good to have u guys back by the way, porking lameness huh
still enjoying this week, good food, good shows, good times. this week's highlights are Zanmai and Fusion Haven in Sri P. ordered the kakidon as usual, as recommended by wei shen months ago, still loving the fishy taste of it. few days back took yanyee to Fusion Haven for dinner. googled food in sripetaling, out came this at the top of the list. probably the best cafe in sri p, cuz it's not the everyday food one can get. sometimes we can really get sick of the chinese food, mamak food and all that. gotta make a change once in a while yeah? so we tried the .. eel.. omelette rice. and we got the free dessert. the .. brownie with ice cream? cnt rmb the name of that dessert, but it could have been presented in a better shape. it was melted and flattened slightly. the taste was still there though, very delicious, and it costed us the first goal of the brazil netherland match which i will mourn for. =( went to mcd for the argentina match with the guys, loving that HDTV oh so clear screen i love you. hated the noisy youngster crowd that banged the table with their whatever you call that stupid plastic thingy... and oh, sound the horn, just like mousehunt lol... everybody kept staring at them, wondering... is this malaysian kids nowadays? omgoodness...
yeah, better get to work. procrastination kills.

end of week 3 already, time flies...
>> 25 JUNE 2010
it's been 2 weeks since i blogged. find that i have no time to blog. heck i dont even make myself make breakfast for me. lifestyle has changed soooo much. my butt is stuck to this chair most of the time, unless i'm out of the house. since i have time now, i'll juz do some crapping.
recently,
~snowflakes has been visited by me and several die hard friends 3 times within a week. i'm the only one always complaining about the sweetness, being so tasteless to me whichever type i try.
~i've been watchin football either thru the comp or at ajimal with the dudes. the highlights are Portugal 7-0 and the other wan which has 4-0, forgot which country it was, but it was hilarious watching christiano ronaldo smiling off every miss he tries.
~it's juz funny that whenever we stream football we are sure to miss the first goal. come on concentrate a lil!
~watched some really GOOD movies - toy story 3 and karate kid. after eos, i thought ip man2 was actually very good and could be the movie of the year, but Toy Story 3 is way better, in 3D. it was a very action packed, funny, and saddening movie. i shed a tear when they were about to be burned. and of course, it's a kids movie so yeah as if they will. but it was so real lol. the Karate Kid sure did a good job showing China to the world, and giving good jokes thru out the movie.
~had a good jamming with Larry and co last saturday, he's leaving soon, very soon actually. all the best bro!
~tried jogging in the morning these weeks and it's way better than going in the evening. cuz my butt would be stuck to this chair just like now. morning, my butt haven had the chance to get stuck yet. air's fresher, sun's not up yet, less people, pleasant jogging circuit to go with friends!
~i shud get a bottle. if not i will never stop drinking water straight from the kettle or the fountain at imu.
~dis week the ceiling fan in my room was fixed and i din even realize it was there till tony told me. so blur wey. so now i have my own fan under my table, bye bye global warming!
~does the table lamp cause vitamin C in the dark colored container to spoil? it tastes and smells bad now.
~goodbye glee season, goodbye archuleta season, Chewie is a Korean officially this week! Go Suju!
~orientation preparation begins! in the B.O.D. now, workin toward a fun and power packed 2 week orientation in january!
~bro is gonna be no longer single in a few days, congratZ!!!!
~trying tenor in choir is no child's play. kinda tough. training improves eh?
~crazy dreams are vital in life. suiju dance to be completed by orientation in jan?
off to class chiaoz

first week's gone (sounds like sem 1 also)
crap, just realized i'm sooooooooo lazy and really can no longer post any pictures on blog anymore. everything goes to facebook cuz it's so much more convenient!
anyways, yesterday we had BM lecture, the first for our groups A-B. the guy's a joker and i can look forward to many more funny sessions of bm with him. only catch is 4-6pm classes every week. a pain we will all have to live with for this semester. nevertheless, the first few lectures this week have been very convincing to me that the modules are gonna be quite fun and stress free, other than deadlines for projects. hope that the gym session and two jogging sessions dis week can be maintained for the rest of the sem. early morning jogging ain't that bad. just not enough energy to overpush myself. and the struggle to wake up ain't that much of a struggle. whoever that has ever been trained to go fgt morning prayer definitely can wake up for morning jog. XD
today had a foundation pharm lecture, daydreamed a lot but good thing the stuff taught ain't that hard. went pavilion to try Snowflakes for my second time. tried a soya... base? with red bean, yam and... something punya topping. it's set D, costs 6.50, and i asked for extra sugar. i added two small cups of brown sugar liquid into the stuff. dis time it's fairly sweet. enough for me. after that we juz window shopped at pavilion. the guys, guohong and kang wee refused to enter the shops, who knows why... i became the guinea pig for nail polish testing. all 8 nails were taken, but i've scrapped the four on my left hand partially cuz the colors aren't nice. the ones on the right are okay, so i guess i'll just leave it there for the time being. good to be writing again, feel like it's quite time consuming cuz there's so much to do!

goodbye eos
>> 05 MAY 2010
eos is almost over. today was physio. went out to old town kopitiam after that, celebrating mini for harry birthday. rushed at 10.50am for their breakfast promotion, toast, half boiled egg and coffee. not bad, pricey though. tomorrow everyone has plans, but i wish they could give and take and just go together, spend some quality time together, not juz stick to same old house friends. ...
seasons
>> 03 MAY 2010
every season passes in a blink of an eye don't they? maybe i should count it as a blessing - not having good long term memory. but i do want to remember those moments, people, places, events. it happened and i'll never have a second chance. how i want that chance so badly. sometimes the best we can give is just not up to the mark. circumstances make it never to reach that point of expectation, and we turn out to be the victims. i don't look far, anymore. i just try to live the best i can today. sometimes, even those near me will realize, i don't look far, not even tomorrow, at times.
that season has passed, now this season too will pass.
if heaven is like a cf camp, how wonderful will it be? kayak-ing in the clouds, flying to our oh-so-far dorms, air con in all rooms and halls, oh yea, toilets.... erm. we won't need them so that weirdo design of having one bathroom and 3 showers will be fine. there will be no emergencies early in the morning. simplicity is the key to life.

The Truth That Transforms!
>> 19 APRIL 2010
back from imu cf camp yesterday(wrote this yesterday). we went to Outbac Broga for the weekend, spending a real refreshing devotion rich and inspiring sessions with Michael William (ex FES). the majority was M208 students. me, stef and joyce were the only ones from P110, 4 from M209, several from M109 and others. we had quite a noob bus driver who owns a noob bus. the luggage compartment gets stuck all the time, and he cant reverse properly.. wasted quite a lot of our time.
the camp site was simple and fun. a lake with the flying fox over it, with the rock climbing wall scaling up toward the flying fox platform. they had their leap of Faith area in the next piece of land, just a tree and a bar in midair hanging, daring the campers to leap in faith to reach out for it. the lake was open for fishing and kayaking. there were other stuff like obstacle course in the area as well. ah, and from far we can see the guy's dorms, a separate sad secluded far away kampung building. the guys with cars just drove in. they were kind enough to let us ride behind. the dorms was small. narrow pathways between beds, pity the bigger guys. nevertheless, its very comfortable, good aircon functioning, cosy and nice. toilets. oh toilets. 3 showers, and one toilet. one toilet to serve 24 people. amazing right! shudnt it be 2 toilets 2 showers? must prepare for emergency ya? anyways, thats pretty much the place. the hall was of perfect size for our group.
the first night, we reached there, had briefing and icebreakers by Sam. then we had first songs session, stef and joyce led, me shalisha played. was short and sweet. had first devotion session, and we rested for the night. 5am we were awaken to get ready for the early morning hike up Broga Hill. torture, yes torture. walked down the road pretty much like zombies, finally reaching the entry point to the dirt path, where the real hike begins. slow and uneventful, till Sam had cramps halfway. waited with him and slowly moved up bit by bit till the top. it's a little disappointing that the sunrise ain't spectacular, anyways we had photography session up in 1st peak. i didn't know that there were people who climbed till the fourth peak till much later. after some time, we went back.
had our first session with Michael shortly, an inspiring talk. i wrote notes, proper notes, better than usual ones. after lunch, we CA reps went to kayaking at the lake. i teamed up with stef and we won them all! bang them race them scare them terrify them. we played till the time came for outdoor activities- team building. here we were split to three groups, each taking one activity first. there were flying fox, rock climbing and the leap of faith. those who screamed loudly during flying fox were shalisha and steffie. eldwin shouted cf rocks, joyce said she shouted Jesus rocks. haha... i thought the flying was too short. the leap of faith seemed easy, till i went up. but it was still easy, just have a little faith ya? we mpharm people sang the pharmacy song to support each other. it was great looking at the many emotions that took place up the tree. XD
dinner and second session, group devotion... uh, good night sleep!
wrap up session, photography session, lunch and bye bye. hmm, oh, the food is great, especially the last lunch! why? pork lor, sam, happy right! the orange juice that was served every meal was just good lah, somemore din bring b ottle to camp, so walways thirsty. a mistake i will never make ever again. praise God for a wonderful camp!
till next year!

a couple of fun days =)
>> 03 APRIL 2010
it was tuesday. test's over! and life resumed. not that life for me was paused anyway. test was okay. won't say it's hard cuz it's not. managed to do some catching up with sean and some peeps after that. catch up with stef and pl aso. the studying hours sure took them into hiding for a period. ah, went to music room with sean, yanyee and min chern. we tried Love Drunk and later played Pressure. not a bad start really, and the time was well spent, before we returned for a last lecture for the day by senior professor Mak Kok Fee. the grumpy guy hates late students. there were 4 batches of latecomers for that particular lecture. so, imagine 4 times of latecoming lectures interrupting the real study content. nevertheless, he is good at explaining concepts, really experienced! just lack the charisma that Dr. Arjun has. maybe that's why Dr. Arjun is the programme coordinator now. Dr. Arjun on the other hand demands silence during lectures, and the wearing of the tie. the biopharmacy subject we're studying is pretty short, four parts, new concepts, it doesnt attract me to like it more but it's something studyable for me. but i hope as the benzene rings become more complicated i wont develop a dislike for this subject. seems like chemical reaction processes are the only ones i can describe fully. biological ones are harder to remember. and it's not only about reasoning. it's about names and names. haha.
listening to The End Where I Begin by The Script. nice melody and nice voice.
wednesday was a packed day as well, from lectures to lab. and then there was choir. i actually wanted to join bala and siew huang to milers but it rained. so i decided to go to choir since yanyee, wei siong and lee wun goes there. had the first choir session of my life, discovered that i am a bass. sang Can't Help falling In Love. yes the song the F4 sang in mandarin.haha... lyricvs were filled with oohs and ahs. yet it's an experience! after that went out with wei siong, harry, jiawen, yanyee and wei shen to sri petaling to get dishes for pot luck with batch mates. we ordered some chinese food frm the usual place with sam, and went over to The Store for more. ice cream, some paper plates and cups, and some other groceries. got some egg tarts too! went to Clement's house for the pot luck, amazed at the amount of people present. 26 if i'm not wrong! good time there, had card games after the dinner with Shan Hui being the gamesmaster as she knew many games.
*********** continuation after a short break. went to good friday service just now.
He died once and for ALL. He is the God of ALL!
back to writing...
yesterday had a simple lab session. very easy already as we have been struggling the past weeks, now the techniques are clear. so glad for that. the calculations are also easier as we already learnt them. then watched The Proposal again at night. funny movie it is!
today went to mid valley with the taylor's friends, minchern, eryuin, xinyu, jeremy, wei shen, shanhui, suit won. had lunch at sushi zanmai at the Gardens, and watched the Clash of the Titans. had a good time just relaxing, finishing off the week with the bunch of them!
things i learned today
~suit won is a good driver. so, that makes an exception for the statement girls cant drive.
~an ipod nano costs RM599 $$$$$ T.T
~TX 7 is not bad.
~japanese food rocks! yea i hardly eat those. prefer nando's and tgi fridays. even that is rare.
~minchern reads up on greek mythology
~suitwon is one curious girl
~weishen cannot do something in public XD
~eryuin cuts line while buying movie tickets lol
listening to a song with the lyrics "You're always there when I need You". so true. so real. so alive is our God! He deserves all the praises we can give. thanks for dying on the cross, Jesus, so we now all have a second chance.
listening to The End Where I Begin by The Script. nice melody and nice voice.
wednesday was a packed day as well, from lectures to lab. and then there was choir. i actually wanted to join bala and siew huang to milers but it rained. so i decided to go to choir since yanyee, wei siong and lee wun goes there. had the first choir session of my life, discovered that i am a bass. sang Can't Help falling In Love. yes the song the F4 sang in mandarin.haha... lyricvs were filled with oohs and ahs. yet it's an experience! after that went out with wei siong, harry, jiawen, yanyee and wei shen to sri petaling to get dishes for pot luck with batch mates. we ordered some chinese food frm the usual place with sam, and went over to The Store for more. ice cream, some paper plates and cups, and some other groceries. got some egg tarts too! went to Clement's house for the pot luck, amazed at the amount of people present. 26 if i'm not wrong! good time there, had card games after the dinner with Shan Hui being the gamesmaster as she knew many games.
*********** continuation after a short break. went to good friday service just now.
He died once and for ALL. He is the God of ALL!

~an ipod nano costs RM599 $$$$$ T.T
~TX 7 is not bad.
~japanese food rocks! yea i hardly eat those. prefer nando's and tgi fridays. even that is rare.
~minchern reads up on greek mythology
~suitwon is one curious girl

yesterday was kang's birthday celebration. he's 21 this year, juz like the older others. wish all the best to him!
today was a full day class. and i actually survived thru it all. laptop-ed with the first 3 hrs of lectures, struggle thru CNS CAL session. it was tough, plus i missed 2 lectures previously. have to catch up a lot on that. and bioscience. and maths. and chemistry. tests are so frequent these weeks. it's approaching the end of our first sem, so yeah. enjoy life, juz enjoy. don't nerd. that's my principle. had the workshop of my life today, facilitated by Dr. Arjun. he's good, and sure helped all of us with all the small questions concerning chemical stability. tmr's test. see how i fare.

another week flew by. i seem to say this all the time. but it's true ain't it?
went to carrefour with mary and lee wun, had a so so lunch (won't eat there ever again, hey i think i dreamt of pork last night!) and speed shopping for stuff there.mary bought 6 yoghurt and 2 yoghurt drinks. wow.. $$$
went to cf. ah pastor robin led a study on Mark Chapter 1. and i'm so blessed by the good understanding of that passage. noticing the big big importance of the term Son of God and the word Christ associated with Jesus, realizing the Elijah-like ministry of John the Baptist, and how the roman Centurion, a non-Jew, declaring that Jesus is the Son of God, just by watching him die. if we don't understand the passage, we will just look at the man dying and say, oh, he's just a dude, dying, in pain. er so what? whereas the roman centurion would be amazed and in awe of Jesus, and kneel down in reverance. that is the true Christian, who knows his background, and obtain his salvation in faith!
hope this friday can go sing out loud! or saturday?
oh and look forward to seeing the guys jamming this week!

time flies~! almost end of third month, march in imu. went thru so many different things. orientation. leading a group, at least tried my best to. adapting to classes, liked and disliked lecturers, going crazy and blur in lab, workin with lab mates, joining imu's got talent with wun and mich for 2 rounds. made new friends, camped in library initially (how foolish, it's for nerds only pls!), froze in lecture halls, tried different lunch source, and dinner source, swam with the guys, went bukit bintang 5 times ady, got my POD, and its bag, met derrick when he came back, went to several birthdays, met with ks and sam, made ks start jogging, juz came back from times square, had a one day holiday with wun, getting away from the lecture notes. watched Alice In Wonderland. it was okay, but definitely not the movie of the year. but way better than Book Of Eli. the guys can agree with me on this for sure! the theme sound. my goodness. and the color scheme aka the setting of the movie. so yellowish and dull rmb? lol Alice movie was more fun but it certainly lacked the kick, nor any heart warming parts. it's good enough to relax and enjoy a simple storyline with some funny parts thrown in here and there!
7 days more marks the end of this month. really had good times with different people. grateful to Him who provides each day our daily bread.

so bored of biopharm. we had a fun lecturer today, dr. arjun. he has owls and wizards in his slides. but thats the only relief we get from listening to his lectures. it was tough, chemical stability. lots of new stuff. or maybe juz new to me.
played with pod yesterday, tried to find Brad Delson's tone but failed, kinda... managed to jam with larry on sunday. light of salvation. nice. got a kickapoo and pepsi with wun for this few days. met ks and sam yesterday. catch up a bit, oh and nelson too. and leon, senior in medical. good to see them around!
why blogging seem like a report. writing reports sure ain't my thing. good that biopharm labs dont have one week duration for preparing reports. yet it makes us need to be smarter there and then, doing the lab thing.
jumbo, the imu cafe is going to be handed over to a new operator. yay~ yet i will still pledge my loyalty to indian stall at the road day and night. its cheap tasty and fairly healthy. 7 bucks for lunch and dinner. very good price.

so fast, another weekend's gone. spent the whole of yesterday at music room *please take me away from here* jammin, figuring out the poker face song we (Raze) were going to use for today's second round of IMU's Got Talent. we spent ten hours there, started from scratch especially in the drums for lee wun, and the keyboard sounds and controls. michelle was also memorizing lyrics and trying to get the rap part at the bridge. after tiring oiurselves out the whole day, dinner time came. we tried mcd. rain halted their delivery. domino's said too busy. stuck with no food, stef offered to cook with joyce. such kindness portrayed =) thanks very very much! enjoyed the spaghetti very much!
*dance now everybody shout now, dancing in this freedom we know*
this morning, prepared and went to atrium, saw the preps and props around. went to LT 2 for tutorial but there wasnt a lecturer. so, went straight to watch starting from the first performance by Marcus who took on Yusri, the MJ emulator. they were both great, and made a very colorful start to the event. i truly enjoyed, was still enjoying the performances, till it came to the 5th group. then i started to panic as lee wun was still in csu and michelle is still busy with her make-up in pbl room. so tension to wait alone. siew huang went upstairs to be with bala. batchmates most are on first floor. worryin about technical difficulties before we can even start our performance. looked up the few floors above, saw the crowd. more than i expected. the time came and we went back stage to prepare. well not exactly back stage. there isn't one. informed the sound guys (which turned out to be the main person for the whole event, my bad. went up, tweaked the sounds, started. it happened so quickly i din realize time flew. suddenly, im back on the ground, needing to rush to workshop biopharm, which was kinda hell today. tak faham langsung any questions and theories there. listened to harry's recording of our song. kenot tahan initially, but soon it became more bearable. maybe the PA sounded bad lah. we gave our best. it's enough.
